Information about Hannah

Having been Head of English and Director of Teaching and Learning I bring with me a wealth of experience - so you can be confident that your child is getting the highest quality tutoring experience that they can be. Since taking extended maternity leave I have a renewed passion in my subject and the determination to ensure that all students that I work with come away with academic success, a lifelong love of reading, and a considered understanding of what unites us as humans.

I specialise in rapidly improving results in a supportive, engaging way, so that your child improves in confidence as well as in their academic performance.

I am extremely passionate about education as the key to a successful and fulfilled life. I think that, within that, English is the most powerful driver to success; not only is excellent reading, writing and communication key to progress in life, the study of English encourages students to reflect on what is means to be human, develop empathy and build their cultural capital so that they can be confident in any environment that they wish to inhabit.

Availability: I am on extended maternity leave so can be relatively flexible - I can do evenings and weekends and may be able to do during the day on weekdays with proper notice.

I created a new teaching and learning policy, launched a system to check the efficacy of this policy and monitored teachers` progress against the aims. I presented this to a range of stakeholders and got buy in behind the vision. I held triangulation meetings with key members of staff and evaluated teaching and learning practise before designing and delivering INSET sessions to ensure that all staff were performing to their best.
