Edward (Tutor in King`s Cross)
Information about Edward
I have recently completed ĎAí level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and History at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. This year I will begin reading Government and Economics BSc at the London School of Economics. However, I also have a strong desire to help younger students learn and I take pride in seeing them achieve their full potential. My roles as captain of Rowing and Swimming teams, Peer Mentor, Swimming Coach, Senior Prefect and Managing Director of a Young Enterprise company, have gained me a lot of experience in pushing individuals to strive and to succeed. These positions also reflect the trust that others, both peers and teachers, have in my ability to get results.
Availability: I am available both during the week and at weekends, please feel free to enquire about specific times or dates.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: Though some may see my youth as a disadvantage, I believe my recent education actually allows me to be a more effective teacher by understanding the studentís perspective and communicating effectively with them. Having recently studied the courses I teach I am able to provide an understanding that often goes beyond that of an adult simply teaching from the book and offer a range of techniques which I have had recent first-hand experience of and which I have found useful when studying for my own exams. I have had successful results mentoring younger students for three years and in tutoring also.
It is my opinion that most people learn best when in a relaxed environment but when a clear and achievable structure and set of goals have been laid down. I therefore believe that whilst lessons should always be results driven they should also be enjoyed and the student should end each lesson with a sense of achievement.
