I am an experienced and friendly tutor and a first-class University of Cambridge Music & Economics graduate. I currently work part time as the founder of a music startup with significant prior experience in the financial and business world, and I also have a classical music training having played piano and sung up to a semi-professional level.
I aim for a more holistic approach than simply "go for grades", though I recognise that this is clearly at the forefront of many students` minds. I have tended to see the best results when students benefit from a well-rounded education and are therefore able to make connections between, and draw on material from, different areas within the subject, or indeed from other disciplines.
I take a friendly, open approach with students; I find that this creates a positive environment where people are more receptive to learning new concepts and developing their understanding of the subject. I do believe that there needs to be a certain level of commitment from both sides in order to get the most out of our sessions, both in terms of a time commitment and willingness to engage with the material.
Importantly, I will always seek to speak with you upfront to see how we can best work together and agree goals, approach and mutual expectations.

Experience: Over the past 10 years I have been a tutor for a number of private clients across the age spectrum: from children as young as 7 through to adult learners and undergraduate/MBA students. This has been in a range of topics and areas of interest, but my core teaching subjects are economics, music, music theory and maths. I have taught individual pupils and also small seminars of 6-8 students.
In terms of practical teaching, I have taught piano from early beginner through to Grade 8 learners and also music theory up to Grade 8.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a 1st class Masters degree in Music & Economics in 2013. After a stint in the business and finance world, I am now back working in music having co-founded a company called archForm.
