Information about Shalina
I am presently studying to become a solicitor but I am currently looking to tutor students in English (either language or literature) at KS3 level/GCSEs and in Law (GCSE/A-Level).
I have had previous experience in mentoring and have had experience in running and partaking in reading groups whereby my role included organising events and activities geared towards encouraging younger students (year 7s, 8s and 9s) to read. I have also previously informally tutored relatives in English for KS3 and GCSE.
I am seeking to take a casual yet structured approach to tutoring. Students learn in many different ways and I am flexible enough to accommodate varied learning styles. I also fully believe in the mantra practice makes perfect when it comes to preparing for that all important exam. Depending on the level of education (ex primary/KS3/GCSE) I believe in practising past papers, helping the student to formulate an essay style and structure which works for them and improving reading skills.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: Previous experience in informal tutoring of relatives during KS3, SATs, GCSEs and AS Level.
Previous experience in running and partaking in reading groups and organising events and activities in encouraging students in younger year groups (Year 7s, 8s and 9s) to read.
