Information about Heather
I have taught in the Primary sector for 30 years and been a senior leader in 3 schools, playing an instrumental role in school improvement.
My main area of expertise is literacy, preparing pupils for SATs in KS1 and KS2 and teaching children with special educational needs.
The teaching of reading, phonics, grammar and spelling is the key to improvement in Literacy as well as becoming a good writer, essential when raising standards a achievement.
I have taught many pupils on a 1-1 basis as well as large groups and classes. All my lessons have been judged as either good or outstanding by OFSTED, resulting in good progress being made.
I have now taken early retirement so that I can pursue other interests and focus on actual teaching of individual pupils thus addressing specific needs.
Availability: Any day or evening. Very flexible.

Experience: I have taught pupils from Y1 to Y6 in primary schools in Leicestershire, Cheshire and Staffordshire across all areas of the curriculum. I have been the teacher in charge of a SEN unit for children with moderate learning difficulties.
I have been head teacher in 2 schools.
