Information about Alice
I have been a private tutor for over 7 years, teaching children and adults, from 5 years old to adult learners. I have helped children pass entrance tests and GCSEs, gain confidence and build on exam techniques to aid high attainment as well as adults studying for teaching, engineering and Naval exams. I am proud to work in education and encourage a hard-working attitude from my students whilst allowing them to explore and develop their own curiosity.
My work at the Hampshire universities sees me working with disabled students in their own homes, empowering them to thrive at their courses with the support of assistive technology software. This role gives me plenty of opportunities to undertake further training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) on the Autistic spectrum, mental health difficulties and specific learning difficulties, meaning I am well-equipped to assist students of all backgrounds. I am currently studying towards a level 5 qualification to become a study skills tutor in both Further and Higher Education - specialising in dyslexia and other specific learning differences (SpLD).
The sessions I deliver involve a range of resources, tools and learning styles. I have a variety of maths props to aid students understanding of a mental concept using physical tools. When I begin working with a student, particularly those studying for exams, I use a syllabus tracking tool and regular exam practice questions to reinforce learning and assessment technique.
Availability: I work flexibly from week to week and have the most availability during the day currently. Please contact me to discuss your requirements and I will be able to assist further.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: Having been working with students aged from primary to university, I am well-versed in a multitude of teaching and learning styles. I have previously taught A Level Maths at a secondary school, but currently tutor Assistive Technology and Maths full time, working with children and adults at all different levels.

Alice is a friendly tutor who has been fab with helping my daughter understand the areas of maths that she has difficulty with in preparation for her GCSEs. I thoroughly recommend her.

An excellent tutor: gives very clear explanations on the course materials. I usually find it takes a while for me to process new information, because I have dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADD. However, after Alice`s tuition I can understand everything thoroughly, and feel more confident when studying new topics.

Our daughter, Jessie, really enjoys being tutored by Alice. Jessie told us that Alice has a very clear and patient way of teaching. Already, Jessie is feeling more confident in Maths. We highly recommend Alice, she is also a very lovely person!
