Carey (Tutor in Berkshire)
Information about Carey
I run a private tuition company registered with companies house. I carry public liability insurance and have capacity to take up to 20 children on a weekly basis. I run right back to back lessons so cannot travel to students. I am almost always full. So spaces are very rare. Especially near to exam time.
I have taught in Primary schools in London, Bracknell Forest, Surrey and Reading. I have 12 yrs teaching experience in both Key Stage 1 and 2. I am currently teaching in Stanwell Village in Middlesex. I am job sharing year 5. This year I am teaching in Bracknell Forest at a local Bracknell school, of which I had previously done supply in.
I have tutored children in the local area for several years alongside my permanent contracts. Pupils are normally brought to me for their own self confidence, SEN or exam preparation. I have most recently prepared children for Year 6 SATS and Kendrick 11+ exams. Confidence can be quickly restored and parents are then they are able to continue my programs at home. For me teaching is about helping the child achieve their full potential, within the setting to then feel able to do this at school. All children under my programs have made significant progress.
I have a specialism in KS1 and 2 assessment practice and can provide homework and past papers. Pupils make significant progress in their levels. I offer phonic assistance and can assess against the phase phonics taught at school.
My expert knowledge and resources in the 11+ exams offer pupils a free online membership [contact detail removed] whilst attending lessons with myself. They can then access this from home.
If required I can give full access to the active learn primary site and set reading books and homework. Will full access from home that I can monitor.
Payment for lessons will need to be made upfront before the lesson at a fee of £25 per hour. For a half hour session the cost is £12.50 and may be useful for children that would find an hour of tuition too much. My flat rate fee is based on my personal experience of 14 years and a senior member of teaching staff.
I have tutored and been involved with an SCE school in Germany and will be happy to offer any discount to dependents and children of serving forces. 10% off each lesson will be given as a discount to my flat rate fee.
I am able to offer specialist programs for school holidays that can offer study and play. I am a qualified NNEB nursery nurse and can provide one off or different day childcare. Discounted lessons for bulk booking during school holidays.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your child`s program further.

I am teaching the current 2014 curriculum with access to the new levelling system. I have under taken the relevant training for this from my own school. Tutors that are not in schools currently will not be able to offer this up to date way of assessing. I have a copy of the levels used across schools in the UK for parents that are sent home termly to cross check progress.
My training also includes read write inc and Numicon training. I use active learn and Espresso alongside BBC programs to enhance lessons and make them fun and interactive.
Pupils bring assessments and reports from their school so I can help with assisting to bridge the gaps they may have in their education.
Children work at a fast pace through the curriculum goal areas to build their confidence and self esteem.
All my parents comment on how quickly their children show this achievement back in their own schools after just a few short weeks with me.
I am happy to provide homework at no extra cost and this can be done as and when requested by the parents.
Parents receive a written feedback note for every session with steps to move forward.
Every child has an annual spreadsheet with objectives achieved and progress data monitored. Sent home termly with children.
The spreadsheet gives detailed feedback on what objectives have been covered and are still to be worked on.
