I am Head of History & Politics at a top Grammar School, I have been consistently graded as an "outstanding" teacher by Ofsted and I am also a "Specialist Leader of Education" focussing on outstanding pupil achievement.

I have extensive experience preparing students for A-Level and GCSE exams, as well as mentoring university applicants, including many successful Oxbridge candidates.

Each student will receive a personalised programme of support which will be based on what they need to make rapid progress.

This programme of support will be planned jointly between the tutee and myself, but may include the review of a particular area of the course, an overview of the whole topic or the development of specific skills such as essay writing or source analysis.

Availability: Saturday and Sunday Afternoons and potentially after school.

Experience: I am in my fifteenth year of teaching, and thirteenth as Head of Department. In that time I have prepared students for examinations for OCR, AQA, Edexcel (Pearson) & WJEC. I have also got extensive experience supporting students with UCAS applications, Personal Statements and Interview preparation and support for applicants for Oxford and Cambridge universities.

My particular areas of expertise in History are as follows: USA 1776-1992 (including Race Relations and Vietnam), Germany in the 20th Century, The First and Second World Wars, Inter-War international Relations, Tudor England and Russia in the 20th Century

My particular areas of expertise in UK & US Politics are as follows: Parties, Pressure Groups, Constitutions, Electoral Systems & Voting Behaviour.
