I`m an outgoing and confident communicator who enjoys working with teenagers and adults and helping them achieve their full potential.

A recent GCSE student improved from a predicted grade 4 to grade 7 over two years` tutoring. Her mother wrote to: "I cannot thank Gill enough for taking the time to find the best way for my daughter to learn. She made lessons engaging and fun, with the result that her knowledge and confidence grew. The school has awarded her Certificate of Academic Achievement in German."

I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for languages, making lessons memorable and tailoring them to individual needs and ability. All lessons are prepared thoroughly in advance and I also provide extra materials on grammar and vocabulary free of charge.

Speaking forms an important part of the class - online or in person - as there is not always time for one-to-one practice at school. I build confidence in speaking and writing, which are often the most challenging skills.

As well as tutoring, I worked as an exam invigilator in a local secondary school for 7 years, so I`m very familiar with the demands of GCSEs.

Outside my teaching work, I love wildlife, drawing and painting, and walking my dog.
