I offer tuition in KS1 to A Level English, History and Geography. I am able to tutor for AS and A Level Philosophy and Ethics.

I have just received a Distinction in my Master of Studies degree in Modern British and European History at the University of Oxford. In 2015 I graduated with a 2.1 in History from Trinity College, Oxford.

AS and A LEVEL: AQA syllabus, topics: Rivers,Cold Environments, Population Change, Health Issues, Plate Tectonics and Associated Hazards,Ecosystems, World Hazards, Development and Globalisation.

I provide comprehensive help with both developing the knowledge and technique essential to success in the exam and gaining a deeper understanding of the subject as a whole.

The sessions would be tailored to the needs of the student, with a combination of content and exercises to develop technique. Past papers would form an essential part of each session.

Experience: I have considerable experience of one on one tuition in and out of schools.

In the summer of 2015 I tutored a Year 7 pupil in English, planning detailed lessons tailored to my student`s needs and interests. I enjoyed seeing my student progress and gain confidence in English as my tuition built on his existing talents. This tuition gave me an experience of working with a very gifted pupil to enable him to succeed even further.

In the summer of 2014 I completed work experience in two local secondary schools. This allowed me to familiarise myself with the national curriculum and what is required of pupils at each stage.

I was a teaching assistant in a range of classes, working with small groups and individuals from high ability to Special Educational Needs. This allowed me to hone my existing skills at communicating content and ideas to different abilities and age groups.

The experience also allowed me to re-familiarise myself with the national curriculum and what is required of pupils at each stage.

In the summer of 2013 I tutored a primary school pupil in English. This gave me experience of planning the content of sessions and creating my own syllabus and activities. I encouraged my pupil to feel enthusiastic about developing techniques such as metaphors and similes by basing the work around The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, which we were reading to improve his comprehension skills.

In 2013 I also tutored a student in AS Level Geography. I helped to improve his exam technique and advised him on a coursework piece. I went through past papers and mark schemes to explain what was required of him in the examinations.

From 2011 to 2012 I volunteered at Toe by Toe, a reading scheme for secondary school children with reading ages below what is expected for their age group. The experience helped develop my ability to communicate concepts in different ways to achieve the greatest levels of understanding from the students.

Between 2008-2010 I was an assistant at the Lower Earley branch of Kumon. The experience equipped me with a set of skills for helping students of both primary and secondary school age which was to prove essential for my later tuition work and school experience, as detailed above.
