I am a Maths and Philosophy graduate from the University of Leeds, in which I achieved a First. I chose the majority of my course to consist of maths modules, which I particularly enjoyed, as I find problem solving very satisfying. I played tennis for the University Ladies 1st team and was an active member of the Ski Society, having completed 2 Ski Seasons in gap years. I achieved over 80 in several modules at Uni, which directly correlated to how engagingly and interestingly the module leader ran the lectures. I believe this is essential for successful learning.

From my experience, the most important preparation for maths exams, after learning the fundamentals, is going through and practicing questions. In my lessons I will plan several questions based on the chosen topic. I will outline the method and necessary formulas for each question before going through it with the student and identifying the parts they don`t understand. Using the relevant formulas and step by step method I will be able to identify the part of the method the student does not understand and teach them how to do this part, providing them with a full proof method for each exam question.

Experience: I have studied GCSE, A-level and degree mathematics as well as A-level further mathematics. Whilst doing my A-levels I tutored pupils in the lower school who were struggling with their GCSE and AS maths. I also taught my brother maths during lockdown when he was unable to attend school. I have 8 years of experience tennis coaching people from as young as 3.
