Information about Mark

I am interested in working with students to impact their lives and learning. Currently, I am employed at a secondary school in the heart of Birmingham teaching students aged 11 - 18. I have the passion, knowledge, commitment and drive to maximise the life chances of all students by providing a stimulating, exciting, challenging, respectful and safe environment.

I aim to encourage students to develop a good understanding of their chosen subject, along with inspiring and developing the passion through creative tuition and imaginative approaches.

Within my teaching, I strive to set high expectations to establish goals that can stretch, challenge and develop students physically, socially and intellectually, which in turn will develop the aspirations and learning of students.

You can expect well-planned and structured tutor sessions, varied teaching and learning methods, differentiation, and building positive relationships.

Qualities and strengths I hold entail creativity, innovation, and imagination; all of which I like to reflect in my teaching through active and discovery-based approaches to learning. Additional skills I have include: a sense of humour, enthusiasm, generosity of spirit and using my initiative to differentiate teaching styles.
