Information about Josephine

I`m Josephine, a second year student at University College London (UCL), where I study a degree in European Social and Political Studies. This is a broad degree in which I study modules from various humanity and social science subjects, primarily Politics and History, as well as a foreign language, which in my case is German.

I am able to teach English Language, English Literature, German, Geography and Philosophy, and I can also help with essay and exam technique in other essay-based subjects. I`m also able to help with preparation for the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) as I sat and passed the test myself in order to get onto my current university course.

I have had plenty of experience working with children of varying ages, both in an educational environment as well as outside of school time. Recently I helped to run a German cultural day for 14-15 year olds from two London schools, in which I organised educational games and activities to help the children learn about German culture and geography. I also worked as an English mentor in my second year at college, where I met with a student from the year below to help them with their essay technique, and recently at university I worked as a mentor for younger, first year students to help them with any queries or problems they had about exams or studying, as well as university life and settling in.

I have always been very proud of my academic abilities and believe that education is fundamental to creating opportunities in later life as well as being able to understand the world we live in. I`m a hardworking, organised and dedicated person, which I hope is shown in my exam results. I am able to work on my own as well as in a team, having previously organised volunteering projects and worked both alone and in a group during part-time jobs.
