I have over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring and a real passion for chemistry and sciences. The most important thing for me as a tutor is to develop self-confidence in my students so that they feel more able to solve problems and handle challenging exam questions. I am incredibly patient and never run out of ways to explain concepts to students. I also have a keen interest in developing good study skills and habits so that students are empowered to make more progress and even enjoy the subject!

Availability: I work from home full time and currently have good availability during the week, both daytimes and early evening. I prefer not to tutor on weekends but can provide weekend sessions occasionally subject to availability.

Experience: I have taught in independent, state sector, sixth forms and international schools and also have experience working as an examiner and resource developer for Edexcel and OCR. I have delivered training for other chemistry teachers, both privately and in connection with Southampton University.
I have worked with students with a range of different needs including international students, homeschooled and mature students. I also have a lot of experience working with students with additional learning needs, especially those with ASD, ADHD and exam anxiety.
As well as tutoring, I now run my own website and YouTube channel creating resources such as predicted and practice papers, problem walkthroughs, online courses and group classes.
