I am a MSci Neuroscience student with 4A* at A levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics and 11 A*`s and A`s iat GCSEs. I have also completed my bachelors in science in Neuroscience at UCL.

Other than having a very high level of understanding of the subjects I teach, I would say what makes me special as a tutor is that I put a lot of energy into building a positive relationship with all of my students.

I hold a qualification in Educational Psychology (Educational Neuroscience), which has helped me be able to create manageable lesson plans supporting every student`s individual needs. I have a genuine interest in the requirements and aspirations of each student, which allows me to adapt teaching materials to specific learning styles.

This gives me a better understanding of what each individual is actually struggling with. This way, I am able to help my students understand the basic concepts they are often missing, rather than simply going over topics from the syllabus. This builds a lot of confidence in my students, which helps them understand how to lay out their thoughts when approaching difficult questions.

As a past student myself, I have the ability to teach you exactly what you need to know, and which exact model answers, etc, you need to memorise in order to achieve an excellent result.

I also understand how damaging the coronavirus situation has been to students, who are struggling with gaps due to inadequate lessons, and I will do my best to help. This is why my sessions are incredibly flexible.

I also encourage my students to go over content that they will be tested on in school with me. This way, I am able to help them grasp the contents better than they would if they were preparing alone, which allows them to get great results. Especially now that exams are cancelled and students` grades depend on school tests.

Experience: I am an organized tutor with over 3 years of experience working with students of all backgrounds to improve understanding of material and academic performance, while promoting a positive learning environment.

I integrate educational technology into lessons, improving both comprehension and participation.

The first lesson would include us going through the syllabus, and seeing potential exam questions, in order to find areas of weakness or gaps to focus on for the next few lessons.

I would prepare power points to teach the topics required, followed by three or four recurring past-paper questions to reinforce what we learned. This is key, as most longer questions have standard points you always have to mention in order to get full marks. We would then work together to form a good model answer for these key questions.

All of the content provided by me would be emailed to you after every session. I would also create additional and summative notes to help with studying and memorisation.

Our other sessions would include going through past paper questions, discussing difficult concepts and training to have an elaborate exam technique.

A typical lesson of mine includes going through PowerPoints on all the information relevant to the topic, which include regular questions to reinforce knowledge and to make the session more interactive. Once we have mastered the material and I have answered all questions, we go on to exploring past paper questions based on the topic we are doing. The question sets range from multiple choice to 6 mark questions, which require a completely different approach.

As well as this, all my students should feel free to book a session on short notice, if any questions arise while studying, or if they require help with schoolwork. They are also able to drop me an email with whatever they need at any time.

The most important thing I can provide as a tutor is support. It is crucial for our sessions to be all about you. Rather than having to go through more stressful school-like lessons, I strive to make my sessions very flexible, focusing on helping you with whatever you are struggling with.
