Information about Temitope

Hello! Looking for an understanding and effective tutor?

I`m a student who achieved A*s in both A-Level Maths and Physics (with an A in Chemistry) around three years ago - I understand the pressures of A-Levels and hope to teach in an effective but stress-free way to bring the joy back into the subject.

I also achieved 1A and 12A*s at GCSE, so I have an understanding of effective learning methods, exam techniques and revision methods - I just want to share my knowledge! :)

Having been tutored by many different tutors myself, I know the importance of finding what works for the student and tailoring the teaching style to their learning style - which I`m very willing to do.

Each first lesson with a student begins with a learning style quiz, so as to effectively and quickly assess how best students learn. After both myself and my student become aware of this, we`re then able to tailor the lessons to their particular learning style. This is particularly helpful regarding the area of note-making: some students willingly take notes, while others feel obliged to and don`t really benefit. When the latter is the case, I write/ draw notes to help the student. The results of the learning style quiz benefit the student in all subject areas because it helps them to understand how they learn best, as well as recognise which study techniques may and may not work for them.

Best of all, I love helping students realise their full potential in a subject, then encouraging them to aim high. I find tutoring incredibly rewarding.

PLEASE NOTE: I only tutor in local libraries, so will not be able to provide home tuition.

Experience: I`ve been a Private Tutor (one-to-one) for going two years, teaching students in Primary Maths, GCSE Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as BTEC Science (Chemistry).

I was a peer-to-peer tutor twice in secondary school for maths for a few months, as well as in geography, helping my peers succeed in subject areas that they were struggling in.

For almost a year, I also served in my Church`s "Whizz Kids" programme now, and have gained confidence working with children aged between 2 and 8 years.
