Experience: TUTORING EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

In 2013, Karl graduated with a 1st Class Honours in Financial Economics with Econometrics from The University of Kent. That same year, he was admitted onto the highly selective MSc Economics and Management course at LSE (London School of Economics), where he was awarded a scholarship. While the majority of his cohort decided to pursue careers in consulting, investment banking, or undertake their PhD, Karl decided to pursue a career in doing what he loved doing the most: teaching and sharing his passion for his subjects.

In 2014, Karl began working with students 1-2-1 and in small groups at a local school in Kent, guiding them through past examination papers in mathematics. His passion for maths and helping others led him to be selected for the prestigious Teach First programme (rated Ofsted Outstanding), where he taught maths in the classroom to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. He proved himself to be highly motivated, well-organised, and an adaptable teacher.

Wanting to explore other personal projects and interests, Karl left classroom teaching in 2016 to become a full-time tutor, mentor, and coach. Over the last year, he has worked 1-2-1 with a diverse range of clients helping them to achieve their goals: from entrepreneurs wanting to explain their business pitch more succinctly, to students aiming for an A/A* grade in maths. Karl uses his diverse blend of experience and unique skill set to help his clients get the results they want.

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Karl has accumulated useful skills and experience through professional development courses, conferences, and internships. In the past, he worked as an intern in the heart of government (The House of Commons) and at a boutique independent investment advisory firm (Killik and Co).

INTERESTS

In his spare time, Karl enjoys athletic training, launching start-up projects, and public speaking. He is also one of the founding members of Manor House speakers – a non-profit organisation part of Toastmaster`s International, that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Currently, he operates as Vice President of Public Relations at the club.
