I currently hold Qualified Teacher Status and was rated as ‘Outstanding’ at the completion of my induction years. I also hold QTS status at Further Education standard level. I received an ‘Excellent’ rating at the completion of this course and remained at Coleg Sir Gar as a Teacher of History to A/S and A Level standard.

Throughout my career I have had responsibility for KS3 History and Humanities, iGCSE KS4 History and A-Level KS5 History but also have experience teaching the International Baccalaureate at Coleg Sir Gar, Llanelli. I have developed a wide variety of teaching and learning strategies to support the diverse needs of different student’s ability levels and age groups.

I am an experienced teacher of History and the humanities throughout the key stages as well as experience as a Learning Support Assistant and as a U.S. Army ROTC Instructor. I believe strongly in the use of visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

I continuously inform students of their progress to inform their development and plan lessons that challenge gifted students, stretch middle learners and support those with additional learning needs.

I volunteer as a Leisure Leagues Young Persons Football in Wales Assistant Coach, I have qualified as a PADI Rescue Diver and have worked as a lifeguard both in the UK and abroad. I also hold a Keel class sailing licence and have travelled extensively in the last ten years throughout the U.S., Asia and Europe.
