Experience: I have tutored now for six years and it has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I believe so much in the education and motivation of young people, and assisting them in their preparation for the future. I know exams can be extremely taxing and stressful, and yet, having myself undergone all manner of daunting assessment from school and my postgraduate diploma, can see how this weight can be lessened and high results achieved without the angst and strain that seems so part and parcel of the examination process. I, having initially found exams hugely stressful and unpleasant, mastered the technique of actually enjoying the study required to attain top grades. Coming at the examination of my subjects from this new angle I was able to alleviate a lot of the strain and genuinely begin to relish my exploration of the topics I was studying. Consequently I achieved exclusively A-grades and did not go through a laborious and harrowing revision process over the course of my exams, as I had previously done, but a relatively enjoyable and effortless one. I am reliable and hard working, and would be fully committed to and passionate about tutoring young people of any age. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to make students’ academic careers less arduous and introduce them to techniques valuable for their future studies.

I love literature and have all my life. When I was five I started writing stories which I would then make into audiobooks, recording the narrative, music and sound effects on a Playdays tape recorder. Now at 27 I freelance as a voiceover artist, reading audio books for both children and adults, for the BBC, RNIB, Harpers Collins and Oxford University Press. As reading is my passion, the opportunity to do this professionally is fantastic, and I look forward to continuing to do this in years to come. I received the highest English exam mark to date the year I was examined for Tonbridge Grammar School. I went on to achieve a near perfect score for my A-Level English Literature exams (98%, 96% and 95%) for which I received a commendation.
