Information about David
Hi! My name is David and I am a Swedish Cellist based in London. Having grown up in a family of classical musicians, I developed a love and passion for the artform early on in life and began to play the cello at the age of six. I have pursued a career as a classical cellist which lead me to complete my Masters at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and win a fellowship position as a cellist in Southbank Sinfonia 2018 ([contact detail removed]).
When I was growing up my mother was head of the music teacher education program in Royal Music College in Stockholm Sweden, so teaching has always been a part of my life. I began teaching the cello when I started my undergraduate degree in classical cello performance and have been teaching multiple students ever since. I recently worked as a deputy cello teacher in Sweden for two months at a highschool similar to the Menuihn school in UK, and during my time at Soutbank Sinfonia I worked in education and outreach workshops led by Wigmore hall. I also played side by sides with schools such as Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School.
The importance of being an inspiring teacher and to have the ability to adapt ones teaching in techniques according to each student is essential. Adjusting music theory and musicality to the students needs whilst setting goals catered to teach students level is vital in the journey of all aspiring musicians.
By combining all of these values I always try to create music, since that is why we play an instrument.
I teach people who want to play the cello as a hobby or for work and exams. I am based around Victoria Park in East London, however am willing to travel to teach. Ensemble playing and performances in public is something I always encourage and value and hope this shows in my biography. Feel free to contact me via telephone or email, Im happy to answer any questions you may have. Enhanced DBS checked.
Kind regards,
David
