Hello! My name is Tom. I`m from Liverpool, UK, but I currently live in Bangkok, Thailand. I have a Bachelor`s degree with Honours in Ancient History (2:1), from the University of Manchester, UK. I also have a Trinity CertTESOL from the Liverpool School of English. I have experience teaching History in a UK secondary school, but for the last 3 years I`ve been teaching English as a foreign language in London (UK), Tokyo (Japan) and Nonthaburi / Bangkok (Thailand). I`ve also taught Maths at a lower level. I`ve taught students of all ages, my youngest being 2 and my oldest being in their 90s. I love teaching and, without wanting to sound arrogant, I believe I`m very good at it. I also love working with children and adults, and find it very easy to build a good rapport with them quickly. Outside of teaching I`m very passionate about music (I play guitar and piano), and I have some experience writing for a music website based out of Liverpool. I`ve also taught writing in a previous job. I also love sport (most sports, but especially football), movies, reading, manga and anime. Recently I`ve developed a great interest in physics and astronomy. My A Levels (qualifications you take before university in the UK) were in History, English Literature, and English Language. I feel very confident teaching any of those subjects up to A Level (ages 17 - 18), but I would also feel confident in teaching any subject providing it wasn`t past GCSE level (ages 15 - 16). Experience: Almost seven years’ experience within the field of education including learning support, teaching in college and secondary school environments, and teaching History (in the UK) and English as a Foreign Language in the UK, Japan and Thailand to young learners and adults.

I have been a teaching assistant at The City of Liverpool College and Ormiston Chadwick Academy (both in the UK). I also taught history lessons at Ormiston Chadwick Academy.

Over the last three years I`ve taught English as a foreign language in London, Tokyo, Nonthaburi, and Bangkok (I`ve also taught Maths at a lower level).

Along with teaching, my responsibilities have included planning lessons, making materials, writing and grading student exams, running school assemblies, and planning and preparing a variety of extra-curricular activities.

I`ve taught one-to-one and small group lessons with young learners and adults. I`ve taught in high schools with class sizes of around 30 students, and I`ve also taught online lessons.
