Information about Faiyaz
I am a hard-working, professional young individual who has gained immense experience through working in tuition for the last 5 years. I strive to make my lessons fun and engaging to ensure students learn as best as they can!
Willing to travel: 1 miles
Experience: Head of Maths (at tuition centre): Alongside regular responsibilities as a Maths tutor, I was in charge of interviewing and hiring tutors. Tasked with checking the progress of all Maths students as well as ensuring that all the tutors in my department were meeting the standards of the tuition centre. Handled any queries that tutors had regarding students or their own work and relayed them to management. Occasionally spoke with parents to address concerns. Implemented many new initiatives such as topic tests, student database and a GSCE tailored syllabus. Offered advice for crucial decisions regarding day to day running of the centre. Frequently met with management and other department leads to discuss ways to improve the tuition centre as a whole.
Maths tutor: Tutored groups of four/five students at one time. Interacted with students to help them gain a better understanding of core Mathematic topics. Kept track of students` progress and set regular mock tests. Informed parents of their child`s progress at regular parents meetings. Taught at all age groups ranging from year 3 to year 11, including 11+. Led booster classes (of 20 students) for GCSE students.
Private tuition: Work one-on- one with students seeking assistance in multiple learning areas. Create lessons that are tailored for each student. Assist students in preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams. Regularly communicate with parents about the progress of their child.
Mentoring at college: Mentored a group of under-achieving maths students between the ages of 11-17 years. Ensured that students were taught according to departmental schemes. Took into account the differing abilities of each student and differentiated work accordingly. Effectively communicated and reported back to Head of Maths regarding the progress of students.
