I love teaching. It`s very satisfying to help students develop confidenceand to pass exams! I have a First class Masters degree in Physics from the University of Manchester.
Since graduating I`ve worked as a youth worker, a software developer, a public speaker and have published two books. And I`ve tutored many students in maths, physics and programming, from KS3 to GCSE to A-Level.
I`m looking forward to working with you to improve your skills and to reach your goals, whether it`s for your own learning satisfaction or to gain a qualification.
Availability: I`m flexible, and open to discussion for a mutually convenient time. In general I`m free:
Weekdays, during the day
Weekdays, after school (some slots)
Weekends, some slots
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I love helping people gain understanding and I have had a lot of experience teaching in schools. I have worked at the science department for Sale Grammar School as a teaching assistant - mainly working one-on-one with pupils in classroom situations - as part of the Student Associate Scheme while at university. Also while at university I worked as a weekly tutor for younger pupils (aged 11-16) at a drop-in session on mathematics.
Working as a youth worker for two years helped me to develop my people skills, which is especially important in one-on-one teaching: I believe that if you are able to get on with your tutor you will be able to learn much more quickly and easily.
I`ve tutored students via word-of-mouth and through tutoring websites in maths, physics and web development.
