My name is Alinka and I`m a professional violinist and violist based in south London. I love performing and have played in prestigious venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall and the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms numerous times. I have played as a soloist with several orchestras, including North London Symphony Orchestra, and the Northern Philharmonic Orchestra, and have recorded chamber music several times for Decca Classics with cellist, Sheku-Kanneh Mason. I studied at the Royal Academy of Music where I was awarded the Wilfred Parry Brahms Prize.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have learnt from a huge variety of teachers with different approaches and really enjoy combining all those experiences in my own lessons when teaching others. I have taught students at Alleyn`s senior school, as well as teaching privately and have helped students pass music theory and ABRSM performance exams. When I was in the National Youth Orchestra, I frequently lead workshops and lessons with children both in primary and secondary education. I am passionate about what I do and have taught students of varying ages and abilities, including adult learners. My lessons centre around the individual, and I strive to support and guide students in a way that best suits them. Most importantly, whatever the age, I hope to encourage a natural love and understanding of music!

I can provide:
- lessons for beginners, with an approach which makes it fun and encouraging for young children
- preparation for ABRSM exams or auditions for junior conservatoires
- additional support for those who need help developing their practice in between their lessons with their teacher
- lessons for adults at any level
- advanced violin / viola technique

Given the current climate, I am able to offer lessons online via zoom or similar platforms! I am also happy to offer a free 30 minute trial lesson.
