Information about Bronwyn

I`m a friendly Second year at the University of Bristol studying Economics and Politics. At A-levels I studied Maths, Economics and Politics. I have been tutoring for over a year in both Maths and English.

Attending a state school myself, I completely understand how hard it is in a large classroom to maybe feel comfortable expressing that you don`t understand or that you are unable to go at pace that suits your needs, whether faster or slower. This is why tutoring is such an excellent option. Having 1-1 sessions means that the learning is tailored completely around your individual needs, meaning that you are able to see improvements in confidence and accuracy quickly.

The first session is free and is to understand; what you want to gain from the sessions, how you are performing in comparison to your goals and whether I am a good fit for you. From there I`ll plan each session going through the learning in the beginning of the session, to then working through some example questions, to you being able to complete the exam-style questions on your own. Especially for maths, I have a strong emphasis on exam questions as it means that students get experience before the exam and understand key terminology sign posting to them the topic in question.

Availability: As I am a student I am very flexible, with availability after school and at weekends

Experience: I have been mentoring in Maths since 2019, entailing helping students to reach their potential. The ways in which I helped was creating an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes. This enables us to see gaps in knowledge and see improvements. When I started university I began tutoring in Maths and English for students between 11-16 years. I have taught over 100 sessions. I spend time getting know students and parents allowing for tutoring to be a positive experience for both. My students have gone on to be moved up in sets for both Maths and English
