Experience: I am Head of Science at a highly successful independent Girls` School. I was Head of Chemistry for over 17years and Senior Subject Lead in Science (over 10years) at a highly successful secondary school in London. I have been teaching Chemistry up to ALevel for over 21years now. I am a Chartered Chemist and a GCSE,iALevel and ALevel examiner (20 years) and curriculum writer ((10 years) for Pearson. My area of expertise is in the synoptic questions, particularly those based around practical work. This is due to the fact that I am a CPAC Chemistry monitor for Pearson. My tutoring expertise is in teaching students how to interpret exam questions, express responses succinctly and to manage their anxiety levels nearer exams. I design my own revision strategies to keep students focused and to manage their time effectively. I excel in linking chemical concepts to everyday life and wider applications in current research which stretches A/A* and grade 8/9 students. This is most useful to students preparing for university interviews. I have over 20 years` experience as a UCAS academic mentor for STEM subjects especially for Medicine and Dentistry with a 100% success rate in getting them to at least the interview stage.
