Hi, my name is Helen and I offer tuition for GCSE Maths (Edexcel iGCSE and AQA). I believe in taking a student-centred approach to teaching, so prior to each lesson I make sure to;
- tailor the lesson to best suit the student and their learning style, strengths and areas of improvement
- prepare homework to help deepen understanding of the lesson material
I issue lesson reports to parents/guardians.

I take a friendly and relaxed approach in my lessons. I periodically have discussions with students on what they did well and what they could improve on to help build confidence and encourage further learning. I carefully plan when to issue homework based on the latest research to maximise memory retention. I also vary the type of homework given to make learning more meaningful to the student.

A little bit about me:
I currently teach Maths and Physics to GCSE and A-level students working towards AQA, Edexcel and OCR exams at an independent school in London. Prior to that I worked at Imperial College London as a research scientist for 3+ years. I obtained both an MSci and PhD in Physics from Imperial College London. In total I did about 8 years of research so I understand Maths and Physics pretty well and have lots of practical experience using them!

Availability: During term time: weekdays after school. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
During school holidays: Any day except Friday and Saturday.
