Information about Sarah Ayumi

Hello! My name is Sarah and I have recently graduated from University College London with a first class BA in European Social and Political Studies, an interdisciplinary programme in which I specialised in International Relations and Spanish. I also had the opportunity to study Anthropology, Geography and Law in parallel with my specialism. I will start an MSc in Migration Studies at the University of Oxford in October to further develop my passion for migratory issues.

I am half-French, half-Japanese, born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I have always studied in a French school, which makes me fluent in those two languages. I will be happy to teach them to people of any level! I am also available to teach Spanish, as I have learnt the language at school and at university, and have completed a year abroad at the University of Seville studying Philosophy.

Experience: I have taught Japanese and French since I moved to London for university in October 2014. I have experience in classroom management ranging from one-to-one classes to group sessions for up to 60 people, and from teaching children (3-12 years old) to adults (18-70 years old). I have experience in more than 100 hours of lesson planning whilst tailoring resources to individual needs according to different learning levels, with the preparation of lesson material incorporating MS Office. I love teaching because I find it very rewarding, and my experience teaching very young kids to teaching adults made me appreciate the different challenges faced depending on the age group. I enjoy teaching French and Japanese because they are my mother tongues and I am always enthusiastic and excited to help people who are interested in developing their skills in these languages. I consider myself a very patient person and I am passionate about organising things, teaching and helping others in general.
