My name is Flora and I am nineteen years old with a passion for German. In the next academic year I plan to study Business and German at university.

I have tutored people at a variety of levels and had a very good teaching relationship. Some of my tutees came from my all girls boarding school so we were able to form a fun and relaxed environment for learning. I feel it is important that pupils feel relaxed and comfortable enough to ask any question. I often have to remind them that no question is silly and that nobody is judging them in the lesson, because it is just me and the pupil.

Experience: I have spent a lot of time in Germany.
In 2015 I spent 4 months in Berlin and went to a uage course with Inlingua.

In 2017-2018 I stayed with a host family in Hamburg for one year and attended a German Gymnasium (Gelehrtenschule des Johanneums). During this year I did German classes with UNS and finished the B1 level. In the host family we spoke German and the father was a pastor so I was even able to attend a few German services!

From March-August 2020 I tutored a girl for GCSE (through Microsoft Teams) and her predicted grade has gone up by 2 grades. I tailored every lesson to her and at the end of every lesson we summarised to make sure everything was understood. We worked off a word document that I would prepare beforehand and use as a whiteboard. After the session I would send her the document to have as notes. She received homework after every lesson.

In summer 2020 I received my A level results with an A in German. Beginning in September I began working in Munich as an Au Pair, but as a result of home office the family no longer needed me. In the one month I was there I spoke only German with the family and attended a uage course for B2.
