Hello everyone! My name is Giulia. I am a Doctor of Classics and a passionate and methodical teacher, with extensive experience of teaching at university and private tutoring.

I studied Classics in Italy for my BA and MA, and moved to the UK to pursue my PhD in Classics at Royal Holloway, University of London. I passed my PhD with no corrections last May. My expertise is in the field of Greek Literature (especially Attic oratory).

I`m happy to help students with Ancient History, Classical literature, ancient Greek, Latin, and Italian (my mother language).

I am highly proficient in both Latin and Greek, as I have studied both languages since I was fourteen. I read Classics at the University of Pisa and have passed examinations on Greek Language and Literature, Latin Language and Literature, Greek Grammar, and Classical Civilisation.

2020: PhD in Classics, Royal Holloway, University of London (no corrections);

2016: MA in Philology and Ancient History at Università di Pisa. Final Mark: 110/110 magna cum laude (Distinction).

2014: BA in Classics at Università di Pisa. Final Mark: 110/110 magna cum laude (1st).

Since 2017, I have been a Visiting Tutor at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I covered beginners’ Latin classes for colleagues and was entrusted with leading and designing seminars for the introductory courses Greek History and the City State and Roman Literature of the Empire.

This role has improved my understanding of the needs of undergraduate students, some of whom had no previous knowledge of Classics or classical languages, and allowed me to develop effective methods for teaching small groups in a stimulating and non-threatening environment. In their feedback, students praised my ability to keep them engaged and my willingness to clarify anything that they found complex.

My responsibilities also included regular marking of first- and third-year essays and first-year commentaries; organising sessions on academic writing; updating content, and uploading new material, on e-learning platforms; and giving students additional academic and pastoral support.

In previous years, I have also helped students with Ancient History, Latin, Ancient Greek, and Italian.
