Information about Oliver
Hello! I am a friendly and easy-going Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Sheffield. I have spent the last two years tutoring Maths and Physics and GCSE and A Level, both online and in person.
During my A Levels I received an A in Chemistry and three A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. This took a lot of hard work to deeply understand the fundamental concepts in Maths and Science, which greatly improved my results.
Whether youd like to begin a fresh topic, re-visit a tricky area from a new angle or perfect something youre already comfortable with, Im here to work with you in whatever way you need and at your pace.
Give me a message if you have any questions or fancy a chat! :)
Availability: Generally I am available Tuesday to Friday but I may be able to arrange one-off lessons on other days if needed. Please contact me to discuss this possibility.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: In the past year, I have worked as a private tutor to multiple GCSE and A Level students. My students have had a range of abilities and I have thoroughly enjoyed finding the right way to explain a concept for each student`s needs. I`m proud to say I`ve received great feedback from both students and parents. If needed, I can provide references from parents.
I taught English to 11 to 16-year-old Chinese students for six weeks, from one-to-one to class sizes of 20. With a bit of a language barrier between us, I learnt the value of non-verbal communication and visual learning. I was commended for the great relationships I held with my classes and I received the Teacher of the Week award twice.
I first taught the Freestanding Maths Qualification during school to younger pupils, both one-to-one and to the whole class. I loved this role and it was my original inspiration to pursue a career in teaching.

Oliver has been tutoring my son for A level Maths & Physics. My son has said that Oliver is very well organised, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. if Oliver is ever unsure about something he will always find out and come back to you with the answer, even if it is something more in depth than the course requires. Oliver is very enthusiastic and it comes across that he enjoys tutoring. He has been very flexible to meet our requirements. I would definitely recommend Oliver. I have rated the site 3 star as it has crashed a few times, however Oliver has used his initiative and changed to a different method of communication and always adds on any lost time.
