I grew up in the United States and in Greece, where I attended the American Community School of Athens and completed the international equivalent of A Levels in English and History. My qualifications include a BA in Art History with an emphasis on English literature and MA in Art History as well as a teaching certificate in Social Studies (equivalent to history and geography in the UK) from Maine in The United States.

Returning to my alma mater, A.C.S Athens-the first school in Greece to have a Special Education Needs program-I helped run intervention classes out of the mainstream classrooms. I also ran the Writing Centre, where I helped students from the entire school improve their writing skills and helped with their IB English (equivalent to UK A Level) papers. An enthusiastic and caring teacher of English and the Humanities, who brings passion for the material and compassion for the students to the lesson, I am friendly, warm, very patient and help students build their confidence. With a strong grasp of language, I encourage students to express themselves through writing.

Experience: Having worked in education since 2008, I have taught in both American and British Schools, helping students with their English lessons. In Greece, I helped students with their English IB (equivalent to A Level) classes, through my work in the Writing Centre, as well as students with special educational needs in the school`s Optimal Match Program. I also privately tutored English IB students from 2008 until 2015 when I moved to London. Upon moving to the UK, I became a teaching and learning support assistant to KS3 and KS4 students with special educational needs, specialising in English intervention and differentiating work for Autistic and ADHD students. My main focus is making certain that students feel comfortable and build confidence whilst working with me. I try to remove barriers to learning by making the material accessible to those who struggle to learn.
