My name is Najibah, I have been tutoring for two years in both Maths and Piano.

PIANO

I offer lessons for beginner pianists (up to grade 3 standard). Having played for many years, I know that enjoyment comes first and as such tailor As such, I work with my students to tailor the lessons to their individual needs and help them reach their goals whether that be playing for leisure or for graded exams. I appreciate that everybody has a different learning style so I will find a method of teaching that works best for you. I offer preparation for graded exams for ABRSM and Trinity which include scales, pieces from a selection provided by the exam board, sight reading and aural training - from Prep tests up to Grade 3. I offer 30 minute and 1 hour lessons.

MATHS

I also offer Maths lessons to primary and secondary school students and can tutor the new GCSE specification (all exam boards). My approach to teaching encompasses a range of techniques including discussion, step-by-step methodology and textbook exercises to ensure that my students are engaged and have a thorough understanding of the subject. I offer 1 hour lessons, both in person from my house or online.

Availability: Please get in touch to discuss availability. I am available weekday evenings but could potentially accommodate a weekend lesson.

Experience: I have been tutoring piano for two years and of my students who have sat exams, all have passed. I have passed my ABRSM grade 8 piano with distinction and have also passed my grade 5 theory. With all students I aim to teach music reading and basic technique while also building up a good repertoire of pieces.

I have been tutoring maths for 6 months and prior to this, I mentored younger students while at school and college. I have a GCSE in Maths and Further Maths and have completed an A-Level in Maths, achieving an A*.
