My name is Gunes. I am a native Turkish speaker and have advanced English language skills. I have graduated from Genetics and Bioengineering Department in Yeditepe University, Turkey.
I am an enthusiastic language learner and teacher. I think learning a language means more than passing exams or writing grammatically correct sentences. A language opens the doors to a new culture, new ways of thinking and sometimes, to a new lifestyle. I would like to help people communicate and express themselves in the language they are learning and have fun and be confident while doing it.

Availability: Weekdays and weekends after 1pm.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have language teaching experience of 8 years. The range of my past students vary from university students to 15 year old teens.
Learning a language requires learning the vocabulary and grammar rules, but also gaining the confidence to speak the language in order to communicate and express oneself. My approach to teaching is determining the interests of the students and using those areas as the method of teaching. Some people can learn better through listening and repeating, while others prefer learning through lots of examples. Children usually learn faster by utilizing games and activities as parts of the lesson. When the subject of the language lesson and the examples used in the lesson align with the student`s interest lifelong learning can be easily achieved.
My ambition is, to teach the language in an enjoyable way that results in long term learning instead of quick memorization which ends up forgotten.
