Education is defined in its broadest sense as any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. This statement has etched an indelible and deeply profound mark on my philosophy.
I have graduated from School of History and Ethnology in Democritus University of Thrace based in Komotini of Greece.
During these studies I was given the opportunity to come into contact with Byzantine History for which I developed a great interest. My historical knowledge expanded further these years by exploring historical sites, like Konstantinoupolis, Rome and of course the city I grew up Thessaloniki.
As a natural consequence my MA focused on Byzantine and Medieval History. During my MA I worked closely with Byzantine texts and developed my competence in Greek palaeography. Having completed successfully my Masters degree has provided me with the capacity to approach efficiently and performed successfully assignments, essays and a 30.000 words dissertation.
This experience helped me to develop relevant skills in constructing questionnaires, managing my time effectively and writing succinctly.
I hold also an IELTS cerfificate (advanced level), degree in piano and diploma in IT from Cambridge University.

During my undergraduate studies as part of the courses modules I took a voluntary role as a teaching assistant at my local primary school focusing mainly on spelling, reading, teaching Greek History and performing creative activities (painting, music, handcrafts).
My duties include preparing appropriate material and resources for each lesson, provide educational support and guidance, and act as a role model of appropriate behaviour and use of language. Always maintain professionalism by aiming at competence, be ethical and sensitive to students needs, prioritise their progress, and be confidential and respectful.
Here I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses. In the classroom I have learnt to communicate effectively, emulating the methodology of the staff and observing the responses of the students. Taking note of the invaluable feedback from the staff and students, I have built upon my capabilities and feel prepared for the next career`s challenges.
The last few months I have been working part time as an after school tutor for 2 young pupils, focusing on Greek language and History.
