I am currently studying an MSc at the University of Reading in Meteorology, prior to this I achieved a BSc in GeoScience. I have a passion for science and believe that real world application of sciences is essential when tutoring. I have a friendly and understanding persona and believe that with the right help any child can grasp the concepts and maths involved in sciences.
My approach to tutoring is to spend my first session with both the parents and the child to discuss areas that have been covered and whether there are any key aspects that are not yet fully understood. I will also investigate which examination board the school follows and follow the curriculum set out by this examination board. As exams near I will spend time going through the type of questioning used during the exams, and the best way to decipher the question. With Physics and Chemistry it is essential to teach the concepts first and then apply the mathematics. This approach allows students who are not necessarily self-assured with maths to have confidence that they understand the subject matter before tackling the applied mathematics.
Availability: I have flexible working hours that include most evenings or weekends to meet your needs.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have previously tutored: Chemistry, Physics to A-level standard and Maths to GCSE. I had the option to undertake a PGCE this year to teach Physics but decided to follow my dream of becoming a chartered Meteorologist.Contact this Tutor
