I am an experienced English Language and English Literature tutor, with a degree in English Literature from Queen Mary, University of London.

I pride myself on the fact that my students enjoy my lessons, which in turn makes for an effective, and engaging learning experience. My lessons always encourage interaction and discussion, as this allows students to genuinely explore the texts and form their own and original ideas.

I encourage innovative thinking and help students build and develop their own interpretation of texts to help them gain a genuine love for the subject. These ideas, when guided and directed by my knowledge and experience, prove to be a positive driving force for student learning.

Whenever a new student is going to begin a tutoring programme, I review examples of their current work to establish their strengths and weaknesses, in order to tailor the programme to suit. A tailored tutoring programme means that my students get the best out of their sessions and move quickly towards their desired goals.

Availability: I am available weekday evenings, and weekends

Experience: I have been tutoring GSCE, iGCSE, and A-Level students for a number of years to help them love English, as well as improve their grades. My experience allows me to ensure each student has a personalised tutoring structure so that they get the most out of their lessons, instead of it being “another hour at school”.

With students undertaking courses under a variety of exam boards, it is important to tailor each tutoring programme to the needs of the student and the syllabus he/she will be covering. I have experience in tutoring students who are studying under the major exam boards including, OCR, AQA and Edexcel.

I am experienced in teaching Shakespeare, Poems, Novels and plays (specifically, but not limited to, the common GSCE and A-Level texts). I ensure my students fully understand the texts that they are studying, and also help them hone their writing style, structure, and essay techniques.

I also specialise in English Language and English Literature separately. Many tutoring programmes overlook the need to focus on each separately. Whilst both aspects complement each other, a separate focus on each is required for the best results.
