Information about Katy
Fully qualified teacher, with 12 years experience teaching in a variety of settings, from Upper KS2 through to English at Secondary from KS3 to KS5. I have also worked as a GCSE examiner for AQA.
I became a teacher because of my passion for learning and a real desire to make a difference, and I am proud of the difference I know I have made over a number of years, in the work that I have undertaken with a wide range of children and young people. My love of learning is central to my teaching and I enjoy working with my students to unlock their potential, finding the solutions that will work for them as individuals in order for them to thrive.
Availability:
Inactive at present due to health issues.
Available for online teaching sessions during the afternoon and evening every weekday, as well as Sunday afternoons.
I am happy to set homework tasks and to mark work, with feedback.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I am passionate about education, and over the last 2 years I`ve moved taught KS2 as a Primary class teacher, in order to take on new challenges and to broaden my teaching across a wider range of subjects. English is my specialism subject area, which I am offering as an online tutor, and my experience across both Primary and Secondary settings adds an additional dynamic to my teaching..
I carefully tailor each session to the needs of the individual, working on their confidence to enable them to achieve their academic goals. Each learner is an individual, and it has always been important for me to adapt to the needs of the student in question, in order both enable them to overcome potential barriers to their learning, as well as providing stretch and challenge.

Weve been using Katy for a few months for Y11 GCSE preparation and shes been a great help. Well organised lessons. Clear explanations with support where needed but an emphasis on providing the tools to answer exam questions independently. Very reliable.
