I hold a BSc in Biomedical Chemistry, an MSc in Mathematical Biology and Biophysical Chemistry and a PhD based on the development of anticancer chemotherapeutics from the University of Warwick. I also have a wide experience in Biology due to my academic background. After completing my PhD I worked as a postdoctoral researcher for circa 1 year at the research group where I have completed my PhD.
I am very passionate about sciences both in the academic aspect of the curriculum taught as well as the latest events and activity in the field.
I am keen on tutoring at this level because I enjoy interacting with younger people that also have an interest in Chemistry and I hope to be able to enhance this and help them achieve their best potential in their examinations.
Availability: I am available to tutor over the weekends.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: During the late stages of PhD studies I was involved in supervising PhD newcomers, where I have received positive feedback. This entailed introducing the students into their research topic and teaching them important laboratory techniques and skills.
In addition, I was a laboratory demonstrator to a module provided to MSc students where I was responsible in advising on scientific as well as practical matters.
Last but not least I was involved in school outreach activities through the Chemistry department. Via this volunteering activity we were able to provide laboratory experience to A level students as well as primary school pupils from various backgrounds. The aim of the school outreach activities was to instil a passion for science.
