I have experience in Early Years, teaching young children to develop early language skills and phonics. I have also been rated Outstanding at teaching and developing children`s writing skills. I have been teaching across Early Years and Key Stage 1 for 6 years, so my knowledge and experience of phonics teaching is vast, spanning Phases 1-6. I have experience of tutoring to prep for 7+ examinations, English SATs, including Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, as well as creative writing and comprehension tests. I have experience of teaching Early Years Mathematics, most specifically taking guidance from Development Matters to best guide children in Number and Shape, Space and Measure. I also have experience of teaching the National Curriculum in Mathematics, taking guidance from their calculations policy to use the correct vocabulary and methodology necessary to improve SATs performance. I have been teaching in Years 1 and 2 for 6 years, including basic maths skills as well as the skills needed to achieve Mastery level. My name is Rachel. I am a fully qualified school teacher, graded Outstanding, currently working in London. I`ve had my own Year 1 class in London since 2013.

I like to deliver content in a manner which engages the pupil and allows them to develop their own individual learning style and my awareness of their personalities, interests and preferences for them to achieve their best. If you would like the teaching at your home, please let me know as I am willing to travel.

I have a current CRB check and am willing to assist with subjects including maths, writing, reading and phonics for children between 3 and 11 years of age.

I’m available anytime in the evenings from 5pm-8pm from Monday until Friday.

My rate is 50 pounds/ per hour for individuals.

Experience: I have Qualified Teacher Status, having practiced for my PGCE 2012-2013 in Year 1 and Year 2 classes. I have taught English at Year 2 age in Costa Rica.

Since then, I have had my own Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 1 class in Primary Schools in London. I have tutored ages 3-11 during this time and have had comprehensive training in the new National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2, as well as preparation for 7+ examinations.

I have taught in both State and Private Schools.
