Information about Marc

I am currently a physics teacher at Caterham School in Caterham, Surrey and have been tutoring physics and maths since 2016. I am currently the school`s physics extension lead for both upper and lower sixth, enrichment tutor to 4th year through to U6th for the sciences and Oxbridge tutor (for the sciences).

I am a theoretical physics PhD graduate from the University of Southampton who is enthusiastic and driven in the teaching of physics.

Learning physics and the mathematical sciences can often seem daunting, but with the correct approach, the subjects can be highly rewarding. In my tuition, I aim to provide the best structured learning, tailored to the individual and course/exam board. There are always multiple ways to tackle problems and the key is to find the most memorable way for the tutee. I am a patient and approachable teacher but methodical in getting the best results for the student. I am happy to push the keen tutee to learn beyond the GCSE/A-Level syllabus if they want to learn more about the subject of Physics or are thinking about taking the subject (or related ones) further at A-Level/University.

I am available for tutoring for the following:
- Full syllabuses/courses (I have previously tutored A-Level/ IB/ GCSE and IGCSE physics and maths)
- Module specific tutoring
- Reinforcing areas/topics of concern
- Working through marked coursework/homework
- Exam preparation and exam technique
- Working through worked examples and past papers
- Practical/Experimental techniques
- Extra-curricular material to gain a head-start for the next module/level [up to University level in Maths and Physics]

This is what my son has said - Marc is really good at explaining things. He is patient and very knowledgeable in Maths. He is easy to get on with and i have learnt far more from him in the 8 weeks i have had him so far than i have in the last 9 months at college. He also motivates me to do better.
From a parents point of view - Marc is a really polite & mild mannered man who takes his time and is very patient. He is always here on time and never rushes off as soon as the hour is up! He encourages my son to do well and conveys positivity to my son. He has really enjoyed having Marc teach him and he feels more confident in achieving far more in his AS exams than he would have done without having him as a tutor.
