I am a qualified teacher with a 2:1 B.Sc Hons in maths from Southampton University and over 15 years teaching experience. I have taught both primary aged children and adults in a variety of schools and my maths lessons are regularly rated ‘outstanding’. I am friendly, patient and experienced in building confidence and ensuring my students fulfil their potential. I have always been passionate about maths and I have worked in both challenging environments and outstanding schools.
I believe that when learning maths, a student’s confidence in their ability is paramount. I work hard to build up this confidence through my positive approach and clear explanations. As a result, I am a good motivator and confidence builder. I am intuitive, patient and quick to understand the specific needs of the student.

Experience: I am a qualified teacher with 15 years’ experience in schools, teaching both whole class and individual learners. I have a maths degree and I have tutored A-level maths, GCSE maths and, while living in Ireland, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert maths. I am looking to tutor GCSE and A-level maths online.
My tutorials are always well structured. When I meet a student, I assess them and plan our sessions based on their needs. I am patient and positive and I work hard to build confidence. I start each session with a recap and question based on what we did in the last session to ensure that the student has fully assimilated what they have learnt so far.
Every student has their own strengths, talents and learning styles. My fifteen years` experience as a teacher have taught me that understanding the student and building a strong relationship based on mutual trust and respect is key to a student fulfilling their potential. Over the years, I have developed a strong knowledge of pedagogy, of different learning styles and of methods to ensure complete understanding.
I set my students clear and achievable short term and long term targets and we work towards these together.
