I am a qualified maths teacher and have been teaching for over 20 years. Most of my experience is in Key Stage 3, but I have taught low achievers in KS4. However, since the change in the National Curriculum much of the syllabus for key stage 3 is now being taught in Years 5 and 6 so I have been tutoring these years for the past 3 years. I usually am recommended by word of mouth.

I have been Head of maths in two schools. I have had great success in this subject and have always been considered a good or outstanding teacher by pupils, colleagues and Ofsted. I try to make the complicated simple and not the other way round.

My main forte is teaching students who are struggling in mathematics. Perhaps through absences or illness from school they have developed "holes" in their learning and are now struggling to acquire new knowledge and feel that they are falling behind. My lessons are one hour and 15 minute long as I feel one hour is often too short for students to consolidate and embed their learning.
