Information about Anna
King`s College London student currently doing Liberal Arts specialising in Politics and Philosophy, offering tutoring in English literature, English Language and Maths, in London, for KS1-KS3, GCSE and A level.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have GCSEs in German (A*), French (A), English Literature (A*), English Language (A*), Maths (A*), Geography (A*), Religious Studies (A*) and dual Science (AA)
I have 4 A-levels in Economics (A*), English Literature (A*), Maths (A) and EPQ (A)
As a student, I am able to relate to the pressures and frustrations of other students and the basis of my desire to be a tutor stems from wanting to help other students.
At school English Literature was my favourite subject and I feel confident and able to help others develop skills to achieve top grades. I have helped tutor year 12s as a year 13 mentor so understand the tutoring process. I am not a teacher and so avoid intimidating techniques or pressuring students into feeling alienated, I aim to work with the students and for them to help them understand and feel more confident.
I am able to teach up to A-level English Literature, whether that be help with 11-plus entrance exams or GCSE English. Although I now study Politics and Philosophy at University I still utilise all the skills of English as they are so vital.
I have professional experience of work hence understand the responsibility of tutoring. For example, I worked at a solicitors practice as a receptionist, and at an upmarket restaurant, hence I have good communication skills and am easily adaptable, friendly and polite.
I also volunteered specifically with disabled children (of ages 4-17) at The Seashell Trust for three years so understand how to direct children. Along with various babysitting jobs, I believe I have suitable characteristics for a job of this kind.
