Information about Pat

I am Pat , a semi-retired primary school teacher and mother of 1. Currently, I work as a supply teacher after 22 years at one school in South East London. I have and will always have a total commitment to the educational foundation of young children. Can`t build a building without a foundation and as my mother said `You can`t grow a tree straight when it`s already grown` right? Therefore, the impact of what is given and said can have a lasting affect on a child during the most formative first 7 years of their life. I like to use many different approaches, this could be games, outdoor learning, cooking, as well as good old pen and paper. My aim is to make learning fun, but if it can`t be that (sometimes we may need to just push through) I am encouraging and use praise to show that even during those times progress is or will be made. I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, walking, going to the theatre and travel. And therefore like to tune in to the likes/dislikes of the child I am tutoring.
