Sheryl tutored my younger son in English and Maths in Years 5-7. He absolutely loved her lessons. Sheryl immediately focused on his interests and identified his weak areas and used the former to encourage him to make make an effort to improve where needed. She also encouraged his artistic side and set aside a little time every lesson to play word games to help him expand his vocabulary. He made good progress and always said his lessons were too short (not something we were used to hearing!).

Sheryl also tutored my elder son (in Year 11) in the run-up to his English and English Lit GCSE exams, and helped him to pull his grades up to A and A* respectively after only several weeks of revision lessons. She also gave him very helpful advice about university choices and applications.

Sheryl has extensive teaching experience in some very senior roles, but my boys always found her kind, approachable and encouraging and her lessons were always interesting and fun. I really can`t recommend Sheryl highly enough. She is fantastic!

My son Peter has been studying English with Sheryl for four and a half months. every other week for an hour. At the start of the academic year (year 9)he scored 5a in writing and reading. Now, at the end of the academic year he achieved 6b in his tests. He has an excellent rapport with Sheryl and has massively improved his organization and confidence. She, by suggesting I ask the school a few well chosen questions at the start succeeded in getting his school teacher to also "raise his game" so his school books are now also exemplary in their encouraging comments and constructive criticism.
