Welcome to Clapham Guitar Lessons! My name`s Al and I`m a full time guitar teacher and performing musician - I teach from my house which is a 2 minute walk from Clapham South Tube station. After completing a performance Diploma at The Academy of Contemporary Music and a BA Music Degree at The University of Southampton, I`ve taught hundreds of students of all ages and abilities both privately and in schools.

My aim is simple - I want to help you get better at playing the guitar! By booking a free 30 minute consultation lesson, I`ll be able to analyse where you`re at with your playing and what you`d like to achieve. I`ll then explain exactly what you need to do in order to achieve these goals through a structured, progressive practice routine tailored to your specific musical interests.

If you`re a complete beginner and have no idea where to start, that`s ok! I`ll guide you step by step through the basics and have you playing real music in no time :-). I`ve taught hundreds of students who had never even touched a guitar before - with a bit of hard work and a little patience, you`ll be surprised how quickly you pick things up.

Availability: I teach Monday to Friday throughout the day and into the evening.

Experience: - I achieved a 2:1 in a BA Honours Music Degree from the University of Southampton.
- I achieved a Double Distinction in a Music Performance Diploma from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford.
- I`m a busy gigging musician, regularly performing at weddings, corporate events, parties, festivals, bars, restaurants, pubs and everything in between!
- I`ve been the Guitar Teacher at 15 schools across Surrey and Sussex for the nationally acclaimed Rock and Pop Foundation teaching service and have taught literally hundreds of private students across all ages, abilities and musical styles!
- I achieved a Distinction in my Grade 8 exam.
- I have a full enhanced DBS check.
- I teach all styles on Acoustic and Electric Guitar.
- I have a 100% student exam pass rate.
- I give high quality, one to one lessons tailored to your interests, given at my house which is a 2 minute walk from Clapham South Tube station - so easy access from the Northern Line.
- I charge £33 for a 1 hour lesson which is the Musician`s Union`s recommended teaching rate.
