Information about Helena
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Economics in the USA. Due to the current context, I am based from my home in Buckinghamshire.
I have a BA in Economics from Cambridge (Double First Class) and an MPhil in Economics from Oxford (Distinction). I achieved four A* grades at A Level from Dr Challoner`s High School, including in Maths, English Literature, History and French. I have 10 A* grades at GSCE from Beaconsfield High School. Outside of academics I enjoy reading, photography and running.
I am available to tutor Economics, History and English Literature at A Level and below. I am available to tutor Maths at GCSE Level and below. I can also advise on university and career choices, applications and interviews.
The key to excelling in a subject is to find your interest and strength in it. I am focused on helping students find their interest, enthusiasm and confidence in their studies and next steps.
Availability: I am available during the week from 4 pm - 6 pm and from 9 am - 7 pm on weekends. I tutor remotely via Zoom or Skype.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have been a mentor with the Social Mobility Foundation for over five years, focusing on economics, career/higher education choices and university applications. All of my students have gone on to achieve offers from at least one of their top five institutions (including Cambridge, UCL, LSE) and several have achieved places on top internships or insight programmes (including McKinsey, Credit Suisse and BlackRock).
At high school I tutored Maths as part of a peer-to-peer tutoring programme. I am excited to focus on subject-specific tutoring at the high school level again.
