Information about Louisa

Hello! My name is Louisa and I am 35 years old. I live in Lower Heyford with my husband, our two sons and our very bouncy Labrador.

I am happiest when I am outdoors in nature, either playing with my boys in the park or taking the dog for long country walks. I absolutely love reading and my favourite authors are LJ , Lucinda Riley and Santa Montefiore. My other hobbies include swimming, baking and learning other languages (so far I`ve learnt basic Italian, Japanese and a smattering of Albanian).

Availability: I am available most Evenings and Weekends as well as some Afternoons.

Due to having a busy and noisy home to children and animals(!), I would prefer to tutor at students` houses and am willing to travel up to 5 miles.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I gained my TEFL qualification in Bristol in 2007 and have since taught English to classes of both adults and children. I also have experience teaching Individuals of all ability levels (Beginner/Pre-Intermediate/Intermediate/Upper Int and Advanced). Whilst working for an English Language School in Oxford, I have gained experience helping students prepare for the FCE, CAE and CPE exams.

In 2006, I graduated with a 2:1 BA Hons degree in German Studies and European Culture from Oxford Brookes University during which time, I spent a year studying German at Salzburg University. I taught English to a couple of Primary School classes in nearby villages on my days off.

Following graduation in 2006, I spent 4 months teaching English in Japan which was an incredible experience that I would love to repeat at some point in the future. I taught English to small groups of adults as well as larger classes of children.

I did my PGCE in KS2/3 Modern Foreign Languages at Bath Spa University which taught the wider KS2 syllabus in addition to French, German and Beginners Japanese to Key Stage 3 pupils. I thoroughly enjoyed my teaching placements in both Primary and Secondary classes and am very happy to help younger learners with foreign language tuition as well as supporting them in English, History, R.E., Science and Geography.
