Information about Charis

I am a SEN Maths learning support assistant working full time in a secondary school in Haringey. I work in a mainstream school system with pupils up to year 11, however I work more closely with SEN children, especially those with ASD. I studied psychology at London Southbank University for 3 years and am now coming up to my final year studying Mathematics at the Open University. I have been working in education for over 2 years, in both primary and secondary schools. I have a lot of experience in working one-to-one with pupils, and also in large groups/classes. As well as Maths, I have a TEFL qualification, so I do a lot of work with second language English students. I have been tutoring Maths and English to individuals for over a year and have a large collection of resources. My experience ranges from tutoring high achieving primary school students, to adults with learning difficulties. I have tutored students who are preparing for entrance exams; students who need additional support with their learning; and students who have shown an interest in extra subjects. I aim to make tutoring sessions as relaxing as possible, taking a calm approach to learning. My sessions are tailored to the individual and I work very closely with the tutee/parent/carer to make sure the student is getting the most out of their tutoring experience.

Availability: I am currently available weekday evenings from 1630 onwards.
